The Gewürztraminer name literally means "Perfumed Traminer" in German, which pays homage to the Northern Italian Grape varietal known as 'Traminer'. That being said, this varietal originally hails from the Alsace region in France. We now grow and love it here in Prince Edward County.
A lovely aromatic nose of rose petals, violets and summer rain. Orange zest, white peach and mineral notes on the palate. Lively acidity and a lovely, lengthy dry finish.
An excellent wine for pairing with spicier fish dishes like blackened catfish or fish tacos. Would also pair nicely with a white stilton cheese.
"Loved its bouquet of lychee and rose petal. ... All the characteristics of the varietal; and there is a soothing, cleansing rosewater finish." - David O'Connor (Sommelier & owner of East & Main) -
