    Celebrating 10 Years at Harwood

    Celebrating 10 Years at Harwood

The Harwood family always dreamt of owning a vineyard. That dream became reality when they became proud owners of their own mile-long slice of paradise in Prince Edward County, Ontario, complete with 5-acres of already planted grapevines. Birthdate: Canada Day 2007.

In the next couple of years, many more vines were planted and a winery was built. One sunny November day in 2009 the doors opened to the Harwood's first in-the-winery tasting room. It was, and still is, the only year-round solar-powered winery in Canada.

Jump forward to July 2017 and Harwood is celebrating 10 years on Canada's 150th year!

We now have over 20-acres of vineyards, multiple awards on both current and past vintages, wine available in many LCBO stores and even more fine Ontario grocery stores. In July 2017 we'll be opening a beautiful new Wine Tasting Barn.

The plans go even farther into the future. We'll soon break ground on a small village of guest accommodations and an event space overlooking our north and south vineyards from a picture perfect hill top right in the heart of the Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer. And--this is very exciting--we've begun the process of exporting our fine Ontario wines to the rest of the world.

The Harwood's and our family of grape growers, winemakers and famously-friendly Tasting Room hosts would like to thank you for your appreciation of our wines and for helping us grow into the winery we are today.

We're looking forward to our next 10-years of trying new things and showing the real beauty of Ontario wines and we hope you'll enjoy them with us...

    Cheers! Santé!

    New Release - The Admiral's Blend 2013

    New Release - The Admiral's Blend 2013

The Admiral`s Blend 2013 is the perfect tribute to the Harwood family's rich naval history; Noble, complex and distinguished. We're also launching it already decorated with medals from two international wine competitions.

The 2013 vintage is a masterful blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. In your glass it presents with a lovely, bright, cherry red colour and a piercing nose of blackberry and sweeter spice. The palate combines dark field berries, black cherry, toasted oak and satin-like tannins in perfect balance while the finish hints of black pepper spice.

We suggest serving this medium-bodied red wine at room temperature with a traditional turkey dinner, stuffed pork chops or a traditional Charcuterie plate with cheeses such as Brie or Gruyère.
